Thursday, November 4th, Mid-Cities Care Corps returned to an in-person Festival of Friends Event at the Hurst Conference Center.
Executive Director, Elizabeth Grace hosted, along with help from our attending comic superheroes: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Captain America. Mark Lucas Kelly was once again our Auctioneer of the evening and also helped guide us through the Fund-A-Need process.
This year we recognized “The Super Heroes among Us” as we honored Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley, an ardent supporter of seniors and those in need. MCCC is truly thankful for his support and work to help others. Frontline workers, healthcare workers, teachers, volunteers and supporters were also recognized during the evening with marked capes on volunteers.
The 2021 FOF also brought a first for MCCC, a Title Sponsor: Sam Pack’s Five Star Subaru in Grapevine, an organization that is extremely generous with its support to the community.
Special thanks to Tarrant County Commissioner Gary Fickes for participating in our throwback Batman skit, red phone and all. This FOF fundraiser was an awesome event and a record breaker as we exceeded our overall goals. This wouldn’t have been possible without our Sponsors, who underwrote the event, the volunteers and supporters who provided Live Auction items as well as themed baskets for the Silent Auction, the hardworking and dedicated staff, board and all those that volunteered their time and efforts.
Special thanks to a key volunteer, Karla Ward. We appreciate everything that was done to make this event a success. If you would like to learn more about getting involved, volunteering or sponsoring MCCC, please contact our office at 817-282-0531 or visit our Get Involved page.
