MCCC Senior Social – A Day of Giving

On Thursday, July 16th, MCCC held the first Social Event that allowed our Clients to participate in giving back to others in need. The Event was properly themed “A Day of Giving.” MCCC Clients help bag toiletry items that would go to the organization, Mari’s Kids, that provide these items and food items to the homeless in Fort Worth. Appropriately named, Mari’s Kids, was established by the two daughters of Mari Donaldson, one of the co-founders of MCCC. The two daughters, Holly Lane and Mary Ann Foley shared their giving spirit and memories of their mother Mari, who encouraged them to always give back to the community.

The Social Event lunch was donated and served by our friends at Good Shepherd Catholic Community and enjoyed by all. One of our new Volunteers, Ray Dauphinais, offered to video tape Mari’s daughters as they visited with MCCC to thank our Clients for their help with the toiletry items. The resulting video was spectacular. Please take a moment and watch the video above to see the results.

Special thanks to our Transportation and Social Outreach Coordinator, Jennifer Hurley and our Social Outreach Volunteers for creating the special event day and to our wonderful Clients who attended and took part, to Good Shepherd Catholic Community who continually supports our outreach mission and to Ray Dauphinais who shared his skills and created the wonderful video.
